Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center Dedication

The Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center was formally dedicated to the Lord on May 4, 2011 in a joyful thanksgiving and dedication celebration attended by a crowd of more than 1,000, including community partners, Kaibigans involved in its construction, CCT staff from the support office and regional offices, and board members and their guests.

The dedication message was preached by Rev. Kim Sang Youn of the Nanoom Presbyterian Church in South Korea, and translated into Filipino by Pastora Serlina.

Mr. Bertram Lim, chair of the CCT Inc. board of trustees, gave the welcome remarks,  talked about how the retreat center came about, and acknowledged the many donors who made its construction possible.  The main dedication ceremony (responsive reading of Psalm 24 and prayers of dedication by all present) was led by Pastor EJ del Mundo, head pastor of the CCT Group of Ministries. Special music for the day was provided by young people from Nanoom Presbyterian Church,  the CCT Choir, the Drum and Lyre Corps of Las Pinas and San Pedro, and the Las Pinas Rondalla. Folk dances were presented by the CCT Dance Troupe.


After the main program, simultaneous ribbon cutting rites and dedication ceremonies were held at the assembly hall, dining hall, at each of the dormitories and at the administration building.

As of May 15,2011 Dormitory Buildings A2 and A3 were ready for occupancy. The retreat center is seen to be fully constructed and landscaped by July.

How to Get to the CCT Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center

Need to do an ocular visit to the CCT Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center for your church or organization? Here's how to get there! 

By private vehicle from Metro Manila: Enter  the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) at any of the following points: 

• Buendia Flyover (Gil Puyat Flyover)
• Skyway: Gil Puyat Ramp
• Skyway: Makati
• Arnaiz Avenue / Pasay Road Intersection
• Skyway: Don Bosco Magallanes
• Skyway Entrance: Magallanes
• Nichols Toll Barrier
• C5
• Merville
• Skyway: Bicutan
• Bicutan
• Skyway: Dr. A. Santos (Sucat)
• Sucat
• Skyway: Alabang South Station
• Alabang
• Filinvest
• Susana Heights 

If you choose to take the Skyway, after the toll plaza, get off on the ramp leading to the rest of SLEX below. Otherwise you will end up in Alabang-Zapote. 

Leave SLEX at the Greenfield City/ Eton City Exit (Malitlit Exit).  Drive along the Greenfield Parkway, passing Eton City on the right and Pramana on the left.  Three kilometres from SLEX you will arrive at a fork in the road.  Take the left road which is United Blvd. Drive straight ahead for the next four kilometres. At the intersection just past the Southern Luzon Hospital, drive straight ahead.  Turn right at San Bruno Drive passing Paseo de Sta Rosa.  Drive straight ahead until you reach the Tagaytay-Sta.Rosa Road where you turn left across from Rose and Grace Restaurant. Drive along the Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa Road for the next seven kilometres passing Sta. Elena Subdivision, Brittany, Nuvali, and Crown Asia.

Continue onto a two-lane road passing through Silang, Cavite. Landmarks are Pasong Langka, Ponderosa, and Windsor Heights.  Follow this road until you arrive at the Tagaytay Public Market just several meters from  the Tagaytay-Calamba Road. Turn left here  --  you will be heading  in the direction of the Picnic Grove. (Meanwhile, enjoy breathtaking views of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano on your right). Turn left again on Kaykulot, a single lane road just past the entrance to the Picnic Grove. The Tagaytay Retreat and Training Center is 800 meters from this point.


Travel time: About 1 1/2 hours from Manila
Toll fee: P167 as of May 2011.

By Public Transport. 

• By van. There are vans that travel to Lemery/Nasugbu Batangas with Tagaytay as a major drop-off point. They start at terminals in Star Mall across from the EDSA Shangrila, EGI Mall Taft corner Buendia, Filinvest Festival Mall in Alabang, and in the basement of Metropoint Mall, EDSA corner Taft. Ask the driver to let you off at the city market. Take a tricycle  to Kaykulot Road, across from the entrance to Picnic Grove (tell tricycle driver, "CCT"). 

           Fare: P180 (van) + P50 (tricycle)  as of August 2011
           Travel time: about 1 1/2 hours from EDSA-Shaw


           Note: The vans do not leave unless all seats are taken. It sometimes takes three hours before a   
           van is filled up.

• By bus. The following bus companies provide transport between Manila and Batangas, with Tagaytay as a major stop,.  The buses travel a slow route -- Aguinaldo Highway, which traverses Bacoor, Imus, Dasmarinas, and Silang in Cavite.    
•  Batman Star Express, Golden Dragon (terminal – behind Sogo Hotel and McDonalds near MRT Taft Avenue)
• San Agustin, Erjohn, Kirby, Mindanao Express, and Lorna Buses (starting point Lawton, passing  Taft Avenue, turning right at Quirino, and left to Roxas in Manila, proceeding to Coastal Road and Emilio Aguinaldo Highway.)

        Ask the bus conductor to let you off at the terminal of jeepneys headed for People's Park or Picnic Grove.  Tell the jeepney driver to let you off at the barangay hall of Sungay East across from Picnic Grove.  Cross the road.  Take a tricycle to CCT Retreat and Training Center 800 meters away.



          Fare: P78.00 (bus from Pasay)  +  P11 (jeep) + P30 (tricycle)
         Travel time: About 2 1/2 hours
